under changing laws, energy challenges and Pandemic induced uncertaintyDubai, UAEAug 1, 2022Aug 12, 2022$12,500

Last year, the oil price is the primary driver of projected drilling activity and accompanying crude oil production rates. The oil and natural gas industry was already headed toward relying on capital from cash flow instead of debt and equity. COVID-19 has accelerated this trend, leaving producers more dependent on internal sources of cash flow because outside funding sources are less available or require higher rates of return.

Tht Pandemic has increased Companies’ debt burden, because emphasis shifted to Healthcare. This increased debt burden has made the prospect of borrowing money for energy infrastructure development even more difficult.

This course covers the fundamental principles of economics with considerations for Pandemic Induced Uncertainties. This course will review the concepts of petroleum reserves, the time value of money and their applications for evaluating investment situations. These techniques can be used to systematically qualify the relative economic merits of investment opportunities. A number of analytical, empirical and numerical methods for estimating volumetric performances of petroleum reservoirs under uncertainties will be discussed. With this training, attendees will learn how to Scrutinize a Production Sharing Agreement. The PSA, the provisions of which are the focus of this training, occupy a special place in the history of oil contracts. They were developed in the 1960s and became widespread by the 1990s. While their popularity has waxed and waned over this period, they are still used in the oil and gas industry, especially among IOCs operating in low- and middle-income developing countries.

Asset and Production Managers are often tasked with maximising hydrocarbon production from existing assets with minimal and cost-effective modifications to existing facilities. As the operational costs of producing oil and gas increases due to staff shortages and increased production from marginal, unconventional and technologically challenging fields, there is greater need for cost-effective asset optimization.

Typically in PSA’s with Production Bonuses, why do Operators opt to pay Income tax instead of paying the Production Bonus set by the Government?  Even though PSA is considered to be the most efficient Oil and Gas Contract by some scholars.

Understanding the Correlation of Nondollar-Denominated OilHouston, TXJun 20, 2022Jun 24, 2022$6,125

This course will address some of the hidden string that ties currencies to crude oil. Price actions in one venue force a sympathetic or opposing reaction in the other. This correlation persists for many reasons, including resource distribution, the balance of trade (BOT), and market psychology. There’s also crude oil’s significant contribution to inflationary and deflationary pressures that intensifies these interrelationships during strongly trending periods—both to the upside and to the downside.

LEADERSHIP AND INFLUENCE: BUILDING YOUR INNER LEADER CONFIDENCE Houston, TXSep 19, 2022Sep 23, 2022$6,500
Houston, TXOct 03, 2022Oct 07, 2022$6,500

Leadership potential exists within each of us. That potential can be triggered by outside events, or it can be learned by exploring ourselves from within. This training takes the latter approach. Once you learn the techniques of true leadership, you will be able to build the confidence it takes to take the lead. The more experience you have acting as a genuine leader, the easier it will be for you. Influence is subtle, yet incredibly powerful. You can order someone to do a task, but you cannot order them to do their best. It simply doesn’t work and usually has the opposite effect. You can influence people to do their best by providing a strong, motivating example in addition to positive reinforcement. Leadership addresses tasks, while influence addresses attitudes and awareness. Influence is the soul of leadership.

ASSESSING & MANAGING OIL & GAS RISKOntario, CAJun 27, 2022Jul 1, 2022$6,100
Las Vegas, NVSep 1, 2022Sep 5, 2022$6,000

Risks are complex and interconnected with supply chains, customer and shareholder expectations, evolving technology and regulatory compliance needs. This makes risk management planning, implementation and communication increasingly necessary skills for all organizations.

While the depth and duration of this Pandemic are uncertain, without fundamental change, it will be difficult to return to the attractive industry performance that has historically prevailed. On its current course and speed, the industry could now be entering an era defined by intense competition, technology-led rapid supply response, flat to declining demand, investor scepticism, and increasing public and government pressure regarding impact on climate and the environment. However, under most scenarios, oil and gas will remain a multi-trillion-dollar market for decades. Given its role in supplying affordable energy, it is too important to fail. The question of how to create value in the next normal is therefore fundamental.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Supervisors, engineers and technicians responsible for ensuring the adequate protection of pipeline assets; maintenance planners, regulators and service-providers to the pipeline industry will also benefit from attending the course.

3D/4D SEISMIC DATA PROCESSING AND INTERPRETATION IN THE OILFIELDHouston, TXSep 5, 2022Sep 9, 2022$6,125

Time-lapse seismic survey, also known as 4D seismic has great potential in monitoring and interpreting time-varying variations in reservoir fluid properties during hydrocarbon production. Production process can change reservoir parameters (such as fluid saturation, temperature and pressure), leading to changes in elastic properties (bulk modulus and density) corresponding changes in P- and S-wave velocities.

The time-lapse surveys interpret dynamic changes in reservoir parameters by detecting differences in seismic responses from different vintages, which are obtained by repeated seismic surveys over the same area. Extracting the full value from time-lapse seismic surveys (4D seismic) requires high levels of competence in advanced 3D imaging, time-lapse seismic processing (data conditioning to enhance repeatability of time-lapse datasets and reduce artificial differences that come from unavoidable differences in repeated-seismic survey environments), velocity modeling, and pre-SDM along with the application of methods unique to the 4D seismic processing and interpretation workflow.

This course provides 4D seismic studies of reservoirs that can be used to monitor reservoir fluid substitution and maximize production of reservoirs. Participants will gain in-depth understanding of how the seismic properties relate to reservoir properties as production takes place in the reservoir.

The course is designed to put the participants into a position where the seismic response can be related to important reservoir properties.

International Energy Business with Emphasis on Profitability under PIA Dubai, UAEOct 17, 2022Oct 28, 2022$12,500

PIA represents an effort by Africa’s leading oil-producing country, Nigeria to respond to this changing environment. In 2019, the oil and gas sector accounted for about 5.8 percent of Nigeria’s real GDP and was responsible for 95 percent of Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings and 80 percent of its budget revenues. In addition, because the law is far-reaching in its remit, it is complex and not easy to summarize. This course will focus on Profitability under the new law.

The PIA introduces a new tax regime, replacing the existing petroleum profits tax with a hydrocarbon tax and introducing a tax on the income of oil companies. Under this new fiscal regime, hydrocarbons—including crude oil, condensates, and natural gas liquids produced from associated gas—will be subject to taxation. Notably, crude oil from deep offshore is excluded from the tax.

One of the more controversial stipulations in the PIA is the provision stating that, in the event of supply shortfalls, only companies with active refining licenses or proven track record of international crude oil and petroleum products trading will be allowed to import such products. This is a controversial provision that has been interpreted as an attempt to confer monopoly powers on a few domestic refiners. Lets Discuss.
